Pillowcases!

I made my FIL and youngest BIL a pillowcase for Christmas.

It isn't a big project, nor impressive I know. However, I'm a first-timer with no family background, so I'm still proud of myself. I used what the 'burrito' method, as my sewing teacher called it, though I've also seen it referred to online as 'hotdog'.

That is my little $100 sewing machine that I'm practicing on until I'm ready to get a better machine.

...for real, I just moved this month and am trying to *find* the sewing materials in unopened boxes and bags and a place to put them, and then I have fantasies of making everything in the world...I'll let you know!

...in my house, it's the cats who get packed and unpacked first, and the half-feral one bit me to the bone in three fingers while getting put in the case, and so I was unable to use my hands for much for weeks: hospital, infection, blood poisoning, whatever...so that slowed me way the heck down...I am hoping to get back in the swing of it soon though, and have even started to get a little something going as far as unpacking goes...

I hear ya! We didn't move as recently as you, but we just reshuffled everything in the upstairs - where my sewing & craft area is. And our upstairs is currently unheated, which means that it takes a real effort to go up there! (I live in Minnesota; unheated is no joke in winter.)

Hopefully I'll manage to arrange heat soon so that I can do some sewing.
