That sounds like an awesome project. If you need extra motivation, have you checked out Wardrobe Refashion? I haven't signed up myself, but I go there sometimes to check out what other people are doing. As for slopers, there are (apparently) computer programs that can do this for you - you could check out this site and see if that's what you're after.
